- The audio stream is copied rather than converted, so it keeps exactly the quality it had — and it also keeps whatever codec it had. The file is always named .m4a, which is right for the AAC in most MP4s and misleading when the track was something else.
- A track whose codec cannot live in an MP4 container fails rather than being converted. Use Video to MP3 when you need a result in a common format whatever went in.
- Only the first audio track is taken. A file with several language tracks loses the rest.
