Is this tool free?

What gets left behind?

The WEBVTT header, any NOTE or STYLE blocks, and per-cue positioning. SRT has no equivalent for those, so they are removed rather than mangled into something a player would misread.

Is my subtitle file uploaded?

No. The conversion is text handling and happens in your browser, so the file never leaves your device.
