Resize Video works on the file you upload. Adjust the options, then select Process ▸ and it runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded to a server — then shows the result in the Output panel.

{ } Limitations

  • Only the width can be set. The height is calculated to keep the aspect ratio and then rounded to an even number, because H.264 cannot encode odd dimensions — so the result is occasionally a pixel shorter than the exact ratio.
  • Nothing stops you entering a width larger than the original. Upscaling produces a bigger file with no more detail in it.
  • The picture is re-encoded and loses a generation of quality. The audio is copied through untouched.

How do I set the height instead?

You cannot here — this tool takes a width and keeps the aspect ratio, which is what stops a video coming out stretched.
