{ } Limitations
- The audio is removed, not silenced: the output carries no audio track at all. Some editors and upload pipelines treat a video with no audio track differently from one with a silent track.
- This is built for MP4, and the output is always MP4. A file whose video cannot be placed in an MP4 container unchanged fails rather than being converted — convert it first.
- Only the video track survives. Subtitle and data tracks are dropped along with the audio.

Does muting reduce the quality?
No. The picture is copied straight through rather than re-encoded, so the video is identical to the original and the job takes seconds no matter how long the clip is. Only the audio track is removed.
